When you come on holiday to La Pierre Vert at Fréjus, you can explore our Côte d’Azur coastline, further inland, Haut Var Verdon and Pays de Fayence (https://www.paysdefayence.com/itineraires/circuit-velo-eurovelo-8//), the Maures, Sainte-Baume, Estérel Massifs and the plains and valleys of Provence Verte.
Thrill seekers and lovers of stunning scenery can discover Var by mountain bike or leave the cycling tourists behind and go off the beaten track, along its small roads and regional paths.
A sample route in Var
This route crosses 20 municipalities from Six-Fours-Les-Plages to Saint-Raphaël, following the old Provence railway line. By following the coastal cycle route, you can discover and admire the diverse landscapes and its richly scented flora. Your eyes will be delighted by the unforgettable coastal landscapes! 92 km have been developed, of which around 60 km are exclusively for non-motorised users. Some sections of the route are not yet complete, so cyclists will have to follow main roads at times. Please check the route with the relevant Tourist Office.
Focus on mountain biking
Lovers of mountain biking, gravel biking, cross country and others, beginners and experts alike, will find something they love! From the sea to the mountains and hilltop fishing villages, come and discover our signposted trails and routes with GPS tracking. Var has two French Cycling Federation mountain bike bases: one at Hyères with 14 routes and the other at Verdon, between Alpes-de-haute-Provence and Var, Espace Provence Verdon. The Hyères base is focused on 5 different areas, with a network of routes on the mainland, plus some fifty kilometres on Porquerolles Island. In total, it offers 94.5 km of green, blue and red routes. Lastly, discover the routes of the Siou-Blanc Plateau and the Artuby River at Comps-sur-Artuby and La Bastide.
